As a series of reportage photographs this set of construction site work for a major UK company highlights the diversity of day to day life on site and on locations across the UK.
As an observer of the world around us it is up to the reportage photographer to present this in new ways, to make people look again at the day to day.
Working without an art director on this occasion I was commissioned to work across the UK to capture a variety of Reportage photography construction site images with different disciplines being undertaken.
A decision was made to convert to B&W in post production prior to the start of the shoot.
With emphasis on commotion that black and white photography brings it was necessary to concentrate on the detail of the locations.
Staff at work, plant and machinery and wider vistas brought together to work as an on going story of construction.
I am specialist Professional location photographer.
In consequence I am regularly commissioned to work on construction and industrial projects.
Probably photographing plant & machinery, staff & workers most noteworthy for my real life reportage style of working.
Commissions have been undertaken for London Tubelines, Thames Water, Airbus, Carillion etc.
Furthermore I have recently shot a 25-day countrywide commission for The Construction Industry Training Board.
